Dress The Bump

Maternity Formalwear
third trimester
To me, there is something absolutely STUNNING about pregnant women in formalwear. It's like they radiate confidence and are saying "Look at me . . . I'm pregnant, beautiful, and loving it!"
Through most of my pregnancy, I've been dressed in the usual yoga pant and tank top uniform. I have the luxury of working from home, so luckily I didn't have to buy too many maternity work outfits or be in heels every day. Because I didn't feel like my normal self all dressed up, it became difficult to put effort into really getting ready . . . pretty much EVER.
But . . . there's something a woman starts to miss when she doesn't get her daily dose of dress up time. We all need to feel beautiful and there will be times where the pregnancy excuse doesn't get you out of special occasions. There are weddings, birthday parties, etc. that you wouldn't miss for the world and that's when you put your game face on. And you will be so grateful you did!
This on-trend, animal print maxi by Isabella Oliver was the perfect motivation to get me out of yoga clothes and into red-carpet mode. With an easy scoop neck and comfortable bump coverage, the tank style dress felt seemless and light, keeping me comfortable and cool. We wanted to keep it formal, so we paired it with black and gold heels, a stone cluster waist belt from BCBG, red lips, and a mix of vintage costume jewelry pieces.
Don't be afraid to go super glam for your Maternity Photo Shoot . . . No matter what your size, you are beautiful and radiant. Not to mention, you're capable of creating a life. What's more empowering than that!?!
